  • Hello Xanga

Does anybody still use this anymore?

I've converted to Tumblr. (Visit me! http://twotwentythree.tumblr.com) I felt that it was a better mode of blogging, and it's quite different from regular blogging... but I still check Xanga from time to time to see if anybody updated. I remember when Xanga used to be "in," and then came Myspace... then Facebook... now there's Twitter. (which pretty works like a Facebook status update) I wonder what the next mode of social networking will be.

What else is new? I just got back on vacation from Florida with the boyfriend, which was a much needed getaway since I didn't really have much of a summer at all. (I took both sessions of summer classes, so 2 months of summer was dedicated to school) Besides that, I've been working. I've been spending too much money these days, and I have a load of things to pay for... (for example: car, insurance, textbooks, parking pass, credit card bills, etc.) it doesn't help that it's been a little slow at work due to the economy. As much as I want to shop and blow my money on clothes, makeup, and accessories, I think twice before making a purchase. Money is tight these days, and I need to learn how to conserve.

Besides that, there is not much of anything going on. This week is DC Restaurant Week so I'll be going to 3 places (Sei, Vermilion, and Hook) which all got good reviews. Classes also started today so I'll have to get adjusted to sleeping earlier and waking up earlier. I also have to develop better study habits and time management skills... and I need to start my application for GMU. I'm not really looking forward to this semester (18 credits, boo!) and I don't plan to go out often so I can study and stay focused...

P.S. Aileen Wang, I have ALL the time in the world for you! I'll see you tomorrow at Bon Chon!

  • Twitter.

    Does anybody use Twitter?
I just signed up today after getting a few generic emails from friends who are on it. It's pretty much like a Facebook status update with responses from your friends. There are a lot of celebrities that have their own, and I keep hearing about Twitter on radio shows and TV. My music appreciation teacher was even talking about it.... I guess it's the new "social networking" thing. I guess I'll try it out.

  • Stressed.

I've been feeling emotionally & physically drained.

Instead of writing this entry, I should be practicing calculus problems since I have an exam on Wednesday. Not only am I barely passing calculus, I have to attend a classical concert followed by a detailed report for my music apprecation class within the next week, and I have to attempt to do my lab worksheets for biology... (even though the teacher cancelled lab for the rest of the semester) along with studying for the last 2 lab tests and final exam.

On top of that, I just finished working 6 day work week. And I have another 5 days of work this week. I'm so burnt out... nor can I find time for everything that needs to be done. Maybe I need to get better with my time management, or maybe I should cut back on the hours I work... but I need to make a certain amount every week, to keep up with my bills. I honestly don't want to work as much as I already do.

I haven't gone to the gym in a week because I've been too tired from work, or I get caught up in something else that needs to be done. I told myself that I have to go to the gym at least once sometime this week for an hour or so. I already feel out of shape. I'm trying not to eat junk food, but I cheated a few times already... sigh.

I need a stress reliever... ASAP.

  • 2009

I can't believe 2009 is right around the corner.  I felt like 2008 flew by so quickly... where did all the time go?

To sum it all up:  I gained & lost friends, grew apart & then became closer to my family, (especially my mom) fell in love & then out of it, finally became studious in school & put myself on a consistent schedule, traveled as much as I could, (especially to NYC) & worked hard to exceed expectations.

I've made a few New Year's resolutions for myself... just a few things that I want to do when it becomes a new year:
    1. Get straight As & Bs in all of my classes.  (I'll be done with NVCC this year, then finally off to Mason!)
    2. Pay everything off + save money.  (I seriously need to work on my money management skills)
    3. Refrain from cursing as much as I do, since I curse like a sailor.
    4. Read more novels whenever I have spare time.
    5. Travel to wherever, whenever I have the opportunity to.

I've also decided to turn a new leaf for myself.  I'm going to have a different perspective on things & I'm going to commit to changing my life for the better.  To top it this year off, I can finally say that I'm happy with the way everything in my life is going right now.  Even though there are still a few things that need to be fixed, everything will fall into place in due time...
